Accommodation in Tokyo
Although it's not especially cheap, Tokyo has a great selection of accommodation and and if you search well you can find some great offers.
Best areas to stay
Although any hotel close to the metro or the Yamanote line could be considered, in our opinion the best place to stay would be in the Shinjuku and Ginza areas.
If you want to make the most of Tokyo's nightlife, as well as Shinjuku, areas such as Roppongi and Shibuya should be taken into account. The only problem you may find with these areas is that there are fewer hotels than in Shinjuku and Ginza

What is a ryokan?
A ryokan is a typically Japanese type of accommodation. Tamami mat floors, futons to sleep in, a tea set in the room and a high level of service are what defines this type of accommodation.
Although to get a real sense of Japanese culture, we recommend that you spend at least one night in a ryokan, the majority of clients are Japanese, and reserving is a complex process. There are very few ryokans that will attend to you in English, and offer online reservation.
